Liverpool bought the midfielder for around £40million in the summer, though he is yet to play a Premier League match.

The Brazilian was on the bench against West Ham on the opening day of the season but wasn’t used by Klopp as the Reds cruised to a 4-0 win.

Fabinho then wasn’t included at all as Liverpool earned their second win of the season at Crystal Palace on Monday, while he missed out again as the Reds beat Brighton 1-0.

Fans are desperate to see the former Monaco man don the famous red but the 24-year-old is staying patient.

“I’m aware it’s a different playing style than Monaco,” he said.

“There were two in midfield there whereas here at Liverpool there’s usually three.

“My midfield partners have provided me with guidance and assistance. So have the defence.

“I knew it would change and I feel I’ve adapted well. You seek guidance from the other players around you and that’s worked really well and I feel my performances in pre-season were good.

“Although the systems are slightly different, there are similarities too.

“Monaco had a transition similar to Liverpool’s. I think the two teams can be compared in this way; both them have very fast transition, with every fast players up front.

“I hope to be as important here as I was at Monaco.”

Liverpool have got off to a flying start in the Premier League and are the only team yet to concede.

They sit on nine points from nine and are the early pace-setters at the top of the table.

The likes of James Milner, Naby Keita and Georginio Wijnaldum have starred in Klopp’s midfield.

And the German boss has given his own explanation on not choosing Fabinho just yet.

“It is about players understanding the position and who else is available as well – otherwise Fabinho would have been involved in the squad, as he was in the first week,” Klopp said.

“That is it. It is different football to what he is used to but he is improving already with big steps.

“I can see that in the sessions and that is cool.”
